9/4: The Hope Chest - 1020 Fort Worth Hwy. Ste. 500
On September 4th, Center of Hope celebrated the Grand Opening of their new resale shop called The Hope Chest. The Hope Chest is a 5,000 square foot upscale resale store offering gently used clothing for men, women and children as well as home décor items and furniture. This is a unique retail establishment: not only does the shop provide a paid internship for students enrolled in the Center’s Education and Career Development Program, but all proceeds benefit Center of Hope and their mission to help families in Parker County break the cycle of poverty. 9/11: WRMC Rehabilitation Services - 879 Eureka Street
Weatherford Regional Medical Center Rehabilitation Services has expanded into a new location at 879 Eureka Street. The new location has much more space for new equipment, area for different types of specialized therapy, and a pool for aquatic therapy.
9/18: LifeCare EMS Station #4 - 395 Hwy. 1189
The groundbreaking will be for LifeCare EMS Station 4, located at 325 Hwy. 1189, just north of Brock. It is being built by RBR Construction of Weatherford. Architects for the project are Stuckey Architects, also of Weatherford. Construction is set to begin on September 22 with an estimated completion date of January 13, 2015. LifeCare has stations in Weatherford, Springtown and Willow Park. They are a department of the Parker County Hospital District.

To meet the goals of Public Transit Services; as well as poise itself for future demand and growth; the agency shall enhance public transportation operations and develop a linked system of common transfer points between transportation modes by constructing a multi-modal transportation facility in Parker County - Weatherford Texas. Phase 1 construction; of the proposed 3 Phase Project began on September 26, 2014. Phase 1 shall include site development, drainage, parking, underground infrastructure, concrete paving, fence/gates and temporary office space to allow operational staff to move to its property located at 1850 Mineral Wells Highway Weatherford Texas. The final design will include a 6,500 SF transit and regional training facility; a 4,500 SF preventive maintenance barn with wash bays; as well as day and overnight storage for transit buses, employees, public and park & ride facilities for job commuters who travel into the metroplex for work. The established park & ride and multi-modal facilities will reduce the use of private automobiles and make connections between intercity bus and public transportation modes convenient, timely and safe; while reducing congestion; enhancing safety and improving air quality within the region.

The Senior Center held a Meet & Greet to welcome their new Executive Director, Susan Baer. Susan and her husband, Don, are Parker County residents. Susan comes to the Senior Center with many years of non-profit experience. She looks forward to continuing to serve the seniors of Parker County and to build new relationships throughout this community.
