2014 w

The 94th Annual Weatherford Chamber Banquet was a fun event for all in attendance and we heard from many folks that it was the best one yet! The beautiful Parker County Sheriff's Posse Event Facility provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of celebrating our community's finest!

The Chamber staff and a crew of volunteers worked hard to get the venue setup and decorated. Also keeping folks busy was the silent auction with a display of wonderful items up for grabs, including a Kindle Fire, photography packages, artwork and gift certificates galore. After people had placed their bids, they settled in at their tables. Draped in burgundy linens and burlap overlays with sunflowers and clocks to colorfully dress the evening. Brent Baker emceed and several presenters took the stage throughought the evening, helping us pay proper tribute to the individuals and businesses being honored. Chamber President, Tammy Gazzola, spoke about our "Shining" members who are an integral part of our community.

Many were eagerly awaiting the awards and honors portion of the program, given to individuals and businesses of the community. Amy Kramer received the Ambassador of the Year Award. The prestigious Athena Award was presented to a very deserving Lori Bennett. Dave Deison was presented with the James H. Doss Award and both Mac Smith and Pat Hamilton were honored as the 2014 Outstanding Citizens.

In the Business category, the Large Business of the Year was awarded to Best Buy and the coveted Small Business of the Year Award was presented to the Careity Foundation. The Newcomer of the Year was given to Big John's Burgers.

Mesquite Pit provided the fantastic food and service for the event and guests were treated to an incredible feast. Everyone raved about the delicious meal and it was made complete by a scrumptious serving of bread pudding! A huge thank you to Mesquite pit and their staff for the wonderful meal!

A special thank you to the Parker County Sheriff's Posse for accommodating our event in such a beautiful venue. Those gentlemen allowed us plenty of time to get set up and were willing to help whenever needed - truly gracious and generous hosts! Also, thank you to Bobby Clark of Any Event DJs for providing the sound, video and technical support for the evening.

Thank you to all who attended and joined us in honoring Weatherford and the people who help make it what it is today.
