The City of Weatherford Parks, Recreation, and Special Events Department are hard at work organizing the Third Annual Hometown Heritage Stampede Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 11. The festival will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. in Historic Downtown Weatherford. The event will include western themed entertainment that embraces Weatherford’s rich heritage, including Buffalo Bill’s Cowboy Band, Texas Trick Ropers, The Legends of Texas, Buttermilk Junction and Texas Western Legends. Pony rides, chuck wagons and stage coaches will also be present during the festival for the public to enjoy, along with a longhorn steer photo opportunity.
Patrons will find a variety of food vendors and the Kiddie Korral children’s area with downtown shops, restaurants and clothing vendors open for business. Guided tours of the Parker County Courthouse will also be given at 11:00 a.m.
