Area restaurants, caterers and beverage purveyors will be preparing their finest offerings for the eighth annual Taste of Parker County, scheduled for Thursday, May 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Canyon West Golf Club.
All proceeds from Taste of Parker County benefit the Weatherford College Foundation which funds scholarships and provides other support for the college and its students.
“The Weatherford College Foundation is very proud to host Taste of Parker County,” said Bob Glenn, WCF President. “It’s a fun event and a great chance to sample the best that Parker County offers. We look forward to it every year.”
Patrons will walk from booth to booth enjoying sample-sized tastings from more than 20 food and beverage vendors. Unlike some other “taste-of” events, there is no additional charge per sample—it’s all you can eat.
Confirmed vendors for this year’s event so far are: 2 Outlaws BBQ, Antebellum Ale House, Ben E. Keith Beverages, Boo-Rays of New Orleans, Chick Fil A, Chicken Express, Cotton Patch Café, Fish Creek, Golden Moon, Jeri's Back Home Bakery, Justice Burger, Rahr and Sons Brewery, Rosa's Café, Shep’s Place, Short Chef Creations, Starbucks, Sweet Springs Winery, The Pizza Place, Vintage Grill and Car Museum, Weatherford Downtown Café, Windy Hill Farm and Yesterdays.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the WC Jazz Band, the WC Jazz Ensemble and vocalist Jessica Pelletier.
The event is made possible by the support of the following sponsors: Charlie Gilchrist’s Southwest Auto Group, Mike’s Westside Rental, First National Bank and Plains Capital Bank.
Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door and may be purchased online at www.tasteofparkercounty.com. Tickets are also available in the WC Institutional Advancement Office on the second floor of the Mince Building and at the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce.
