It is important to shop local on the Tax Free Holiday!
Texas shoppers get a break from state and local sales tax on August 8, 9 & 10 - the state's annual tax holiday. But did you know it is important to shop local that weekend too? When you spend your dollars in Weatherford and Parker County those businesses use that revenue to pay their staff, our friends and neighbors, and they in turn put money back into our community. Our local businesses use this revenue to pay their rent, utilities, insurance, etc. When we shop outside our area we are helping support those other communities. Even though the city and county won’t be collecting sales tax on the usual items it is still very important to support our local businesses.
