So you want to get more involved in the Chamber and grow your business… but where do you start? There are many different Chamber events and activities designed to help you succeed. We understand that “taking care of business” must come first. We offer events at various times of the day so you can choose what works best for your schedule.
You can attend a networking event, come to a ribbon cutting or join one of our committees! We want our members to be involved because it provides endless opportunities to meet more people.
For beginners, you can start by attending a Breakfast Before Business held the 2nd Friday of each month. The group networks from 7:30 to 8:00 over a light breakfast and then we start our program. Just RSVP so we can order enough coffee and breakfast for everyone. Thanks to local business sponsors, these events are free to attend. We always have great door prizes! (There is never a breakfast in July due to the Peach Festival which is held the second Saturday each year).
Join us for a Ribbon Cutting! Ribbon Cuttings are scheduled whenever a new member joins the Chamber, or whenever there is a new location or new ownership. It’s a great way to introduce your business to others. Come to a Ribbon Cutting anytime. They are open to members and to the public as well.
Networking Lunches are always fun to attend! The most popular is Sweet on Business which is held each February. It is organized by the Business Development Committee. Attendees are given a business card holder, asked to bring 50 business cards, and then rotate to three different tables during the event to meet many new contacts. This event is always a sell-out. Make sure you reserve a seat early in the year! Other Seminar Series luncheons are held throughout the year.
Other annual Chamber events include the Spring Swing golf tournament in April, the Poker Run in October and Business Bingo in November.
You may have heard of Young Business Leaders, if you fit into the age category of 20-40 then join the group! Every other month luncheons are held at Mader-Bagley State Farm. Motivational speakers will encourage and enlighten you. Enjoy networking with other young leaders over a catered lunch.
Attend Chamber 101 to learn all the benefits of membership. This class is quarterly. Just RSVP with Peggy Hutton and enjoy a free lunch while you learn all about the benefits of membership.
The Chamber of Commerce has many committees. Business Development and Tourism are both great ways to get involved. Business Development meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 8:30 am. Tourism meets the last Tuesday of the month at 8:30 am. Ask Peggy Hutton for more details!
It’s very important for your business to have a presence in our community and what better place than with the Chamber? So mark your calendars and join us, you’ll be glad you did.
