Whether you’re a true “foodie” or just enjoy the best of what local eateries have to offer, make sure to be at the seventh annual Taste of Parker County.
All proceeds from Taste of Parker County benefit the Weatherford College Foundation which funds scholarships and provides other support for the college and its students.
This year’s event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Canyon West Golf Club. This is the second year for Taste of Parker County to use this venue, and some changes have been made to better accommodate attendees.
“We’ve reconfigured the layout and added some tents this year so that all of the vendors are in close proximity,” said Brent Baker, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “We have several new vendors who have jumped on board and almost everyone is back from last year. It’s a great venue for an event like this.”
Confirmed vendors for this year’s Taste of Parker County, as of April 21, are: 2 Outlaws BBQ, AJ's Catering and Event Planning, Antebellum Ale House, Ben E. Keith Beverages, Big John's Burgers & Beer, Boo Ray's of New Orleans, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chicken Express, Chick Fil A, City Kitchen Catering, Cotton Patch Café, Eats Rustic Market, Fish Creek, Golden Moon, Rahr & Sons Brewery, Rosa's Café, Short Chef Creations, Starbucks, The Pizza Place, Vintage Grill and Car Museum, Windy Hill Farm Bakery, Yesterdays, Yogurt Story and a “Secret Project” from Joe Lane.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the WC Jazz Band, WC Jazz Combo and duo Hannah Griffin and Brandon Pelton.
“This is my favorite event of the year, and I’ve heard the same from many others,” Baker said. “Thanks to all the sponsors, vendors and volunteers for making this event a blast.”
This year’s sponsors are Southwest Auto Group, First National Bank of Weatherford and Plains Capital Bank.
Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door and may be purchased in the WC Institutional Advancement Office found on the second floor of the Mince Building, at the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce or online at www.tasteofparkercounty.com.
