If you stop by the Chamber office during your lunch hour, there’s a good chance you’ll be greeted by one of our outstanding and cheerful volunteers! This month we would like to recognize two of these wonderful ladies.

Wendy Young started volunteering more than two years ago. A long time resident of Weatherford, Wendy can help visitors find just about anything. She is involved in many charities including the Alzheimer’s Association. Wendy is also a very talented artist, painting everything she finds interesting. She and her husband travel the world throughout the year. Wendy joins the Chamber on Wednesdays and brings her positive attitude and helping hands every time.

Alice Beavers has been volunteering with the Chamber for more than a year. Alice also volunteers her time at Weatherford Regional Hospital and Manna Storehouse. Alice and her husband, Bill, have traveled all over the U.S. and know the Texas roads especially well. Even though they have traveled about, they have lived in Weatherford for many years. Alice loves to talk with our guests about where they have been and help them find other places to visit. If you have a question, Alice will be happy to help you.

We are very grateful to have Wendy and Alice as a part of our volunteer program. They step in and help us cover our lunch hours and assist with many special projects. If you have a couple of hours each week and are interested in volunteering, please call our office at: 817-596-3801. It’s a fun way to find out what’s going on in our community and meet a lot of great people!
