The Weatherford Chamber of Commerce Tourism committee hosted it's first annual art show on Saturday, March 14. Artists were able to participate with a variety of art forms from drawing and painting to woodworking and floral designs. Each artists was required to be working on their art during the day.
“Art in Action” was held at the Weatherford Farmer’s Market from 9-5. As the first art show hosted by the Chamber, we were very pleased with the turnout. Lots of visitors came through the show. Many even purchased art pieces. There was a children’s area where t-shirts could be purchased and masterpieces created upon them. Jessica Pelletier, Pelletier's Palett, did face painting.
Congratulations to our competing artists. There were 5 winners: Amanda Garner in woodworking, Natalie Mynar in floral arranging, Kris Hurley in upholstery art, Jay Hutton in drawing and Sherry Watters in painting. The Chamber would like to publicly thank our sponsors. Wally Wallace of Wallace Insurance, Leon Henry of Edward Jones Investments, James Plowman of Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel and Mandi Bane of Professional Caretakers each donated for the monetary prizes. Thanks to Melinda Beard for providing the t-shirts and having the artwork done for those shirts.
