This year’s event will be held at The Brooks at Weatherford on Tuesday, October 6th at 7:00pm. The Silent Auction will open at 6:30pm and everyone is asked to dress in “dressy business” attire.

The evening will recognize special Chamber guests, including the outgoing Chairman of the Board, Kathy Williams, and new Chairman of the Board, Ralonna Fitzgerald.

The Banquet also gives the Chamber an opportunity to recognize exceptional businesses and individuals and present several prestigious awards, including the Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award.  This award recognizes outstanding leadership or service to the community of Weatherford, above and beyond the usual and customary performance of duties.  The 2014 recipients of this award were Mac Smith and Pat Hamilton.  Another award includes the James H. Doss Award which honors a business person who displays the qualities of a community leader through philanthropic activities and principled business practices.  In 2014, the recipient of the James H. Doss Award was Dave Deison.

The Athena Award, which honors the outstanding woman of the community, will be given this year thanks to Jerry’s.  This award was given to Lori Bennett in 2014.  Each year the Ambassador Club gives an award to the ambassador that has the highest points earned by attending many ribbon cuttings throughout the year.  The 2014 winner of this award was Amy Kramer.

The Big Business of the Year (35 employees or more) and the Small Business of the Year (less than 35 employees) have become sought after awards for the value to the business and the status within the community.  The areas of criteria for both of these business awards are community involvement, accomplishments and achievements, business challenges, customer service, and cleanliness/attractiveness of business location.  The 2014 Big Business of the Year was Best Buy and the Small Business of the Year recipient was Careity Foundation. Along with bragging rights, the annual Small Business of the Year winner also receives a prize package worth thousands of dollars.  If you are interested in donating to the Small Business of the Year prize package, please contact the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce at 817-596-3801.

The Weatherford Chamber Banquet is always a “must” for those active in our community through business and service. Prices are $50 per person or $450 for a reserved table of eight. Tickets will sell out quickly, so hurry and call the Chamber today for your reservation. 817-596-3801.
